Three editions were held, from 1997 to 1999, and today, the epic race is considered a turning point in this discipline in Spain. The test was carried out the third week of June and the route consisted of leaving from Benasque (from the Barrab\u00e9s Ski y Monta\u00f1a store), <strong>reach the peak of Aneto and go back down to the town<\/strong>. No more no less. The distance was 42km and 4,546 meters of accumulated unevenness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ANETO X TREME MARATHON 1998\" width=\"1060\" height=\"795\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hXqNWZP2yY0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 1998 test, <strong>Kiko soler<\/strong> he beat Benasque&#039;s record against Aneto (round trip) in 3h52min. The winner was the mythical Emma Roca, and it was the only edition in which she climbed up to the very cross, crossing the Muhammad Pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background-dim\"><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-cover-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><strong style=\"color: #333333; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit;\">Current records:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Until this same August 24, 2020, the record of ascent and descent to the Aneto from Benasque had not been exceeded. It was the Cantabrian <strong>Borja Fernandez<\/strong>, of Team Scott, who stopped the clock in 3h: 43min, climbing to the top of Aneto in 2h18min. In 2017, <strong>Marc pinsach<\/strong> he had already made an attempt to beat Kiko Soler&#039;s record. He did beat it on the ascent (2h20min), but he did not take the ascent-descent record. The documentary <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&quot;<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/ondemand\/aneto\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Aneto, the story of a time<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u201dWas born from Marc&#039;s record attempt, it portrays the evolution of mountain racing and also reflects on climate change. The descent of <strong>Kiko soler<\/strong>More than 20 years ago, it passed through lands where the snow has now disappeared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\n\n\n\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">_ Benasque-Aneto record times (round trip) in 2020:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">_ Borja Fern\u00e1ndez: 3h43 &#039;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">_ Kiko Soler: 3h52 &#039;<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Marc Pinsach: 3h55 &#039;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The resurgence of the Aneto trail and its consolidation with No Limit (2008-2012):<\/h3>\n\n\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>In 2008<\/strong> crystallized the initiative to organize <strong>the first Ultra Trail of Aneto by Nil Bohigas (No Limit)<\/strong>, the Benasque Valley Tourist Association and Trangoworld, with the collaboration of Cerler, the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park, Benasque City Council and Barrab\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/aneto-barrabes-2008-no-limit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9289 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/aneto-barrabes-2008-no-limit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/aneto-barrabes-2008-no-limit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/aneto-barrabes-2008-no-limit-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first Ultra Trail of the Aneto was 62km and 4600m + in self-sufficiency with a route that took place in a 50% above 2000m. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was a wild, authentic edition, and with a great impact on respect for the environment, since it was organized in total self-sufficiency and the routes were not marked. The participants carried their supplies and waste, got their water from the rivers and followed the GR marks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>From 2010<\/strong> self-sufficiency was maintained and new routes were introduced:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aneto Marathon (42k and 1,950m +): Ascent and descent to Puerto de la Picada, a not very technical and at the same time very panoramic route.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 2 faces of the Aneto (69k and 3870m +): A \u201cY\u201d route that climbed to Collado de Ballibierna (2,728 meters) and Puerto de la Picada (2,477 meters).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tour of Aneto (100k and 5,950m +): The great trail that went around the Aneto passing through seven valleys and Vielha.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Great Feast of Mountain Racing: The Great Trangoworld Aneto-Posets Trail (2013-Present)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After the 6 editions organized by the company No Limit, the Benasque Valley Tourism and Business Association entrusted the organization of the Aneto Trail to <strong>PRAMES<\/strong> (Aragonese Mountain, Climbing and Hiking Projects and Accomplishments) renamed Gran Trail Aneto-Posets. The main sponsorship continued in the hands of the Aragonese mountain brand Trangoworld, which has been giving its name and support to the event for 12 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The technical organization was raised from a <strong>collaborative perspective of mountain clubs<\/strong>. The technical direction passed to the <strong>Pe\u00f1a Guara Mountain Club<\/strong>, with the collaboration of more than ten Aragonese mountain clubs. The popular spirit of the race would be maintained, which had already been consolidated in previous years with the introduction of races for all audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, all the routes were revised and modified, proposing a loop that crossed the two great massifs of the Pyrenees: the Aneto and the Posets. In its beginnings, the distances would be the Great Aneto-Posets Trail, the Vuelta al Aneto, the Marathon de las Tucas and the Vuelta al Pico Cerler. The two main premises for the design of the new routes would be that they be circular and mountainous routes, avoiding tracks and repetitions and taking advantage of the large and small routes in the environment ...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/mapagrantrail-scaled-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1176\" src=\"https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/mapagrantrail-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/mapagrantrail-scaled-1.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/mapagrantrail-scaled-1-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/mapagrantrail-scaled-1-1024x470.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/mapagrantrail-scaled-1-768x353.jpg 768w, https:\/\/trail-aneto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/mapagrantrail-scaled-1-1536x706.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Gran Trail Aneto-Posets Tour<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, self-sufficiency was ruled out and provisioning stations and pass controls and toilets were located throughout the route. This is possible thanks to two fundamental pillars that define the essence of the Gran Trail Aneto-Posets: the <strong>volunteer work of more than 500 people<\/strong> and the collaboration of <strong>FAM Mountain Refuges<\/strong> (Aragonese Mountain Federation).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first edition of this new stage of the Gran Trail Aneto Posets in 2013 was very complicated and put the entire organization to the test. The immediacy of the change of organization left a margin of just 3 months to get everything ready and it was released with a huge storm and weather conditions that made 2013 an epic edition. Since then, 8 years of success have passed and the test has established itself as the great festival of mountain races in Spain, with thousands of participants, record numbers and a unique event for the <strong>Benasque Valley<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, it has to be the Coronavirus of this 2020 that has stopped the boom in mountain racing that we have been experiencing.
